It is always a delight when clients are enthusiastic in providing ideas for their bespoke pieces as they can truly be involved in the process of creating something that they can call their own.
When I met Jackie, she was keen on the idea in having a mermaid shape for her dress, allowing it to rest gently on her curves and flaunt her figure. To achieve the structured effect without appearing too heavy, organza was chosen as the overall material for this creation.
The bodice, meticulously hand ruched, is off-white in colour to subtly induce an ethereal feel. A mix of ivory and off white organza is hand arranged for the bottom to further enhance the layers and seemingly produce an abstract flower. Jackie also requested for the skirt to have an unfinished hem, without thread or sewing ties, in order to achieve a very soft effect at the bottom.
