Charming and quaint, Switzerland is known for their gorgeous scenery and their pristine white mountains in the Alpine region. Inspired by these elements, I came to design this dress for Sonya’s white fairytale wedding in Switzerland.

The unruly gentleness of grass and flowers serves as inspiration for the ruche design throughout this creation. The dress is a wonderful combination of three different types of French lace, artistically woven together to create a soft, delicate overlay. Like fine, elusive branches in the woods, the lace applique at the top of the dress creates a mildly creeping liana effect. The gentle lace falling from the shoulders, trials off, into a white-ivory bodice of corded and soft Chantilly.

The skirt mimics the falling of snow on a snow-capped Alp. With exquisite embroidery atop a web-pattern soft tulle, the skirts flares slightly in an A-line manner. The bodice and skirt is held together with a lace belt of exceptional detail; thin branch-like lace with little beads that were enthusiastically dotted across the band.
